Stubborn Brook go out of shield

ASHLEY Brook put up stubborn resistance before going out of the BASSA League's Lowther Shield to Premier side Priory. A strike by Brian Adams was the difference between the teams. Priory will now meet New Broom in the final.

Ashley Brook have a chance to make amends for their defeat when they meet Priory again on Sunday, this time in a semi-final of the Bill Howarth Cup.

Nelson bounced back from defeat to score a comfortable 4-1 win over Kersal Celtic in Division One. Tommy Bates bagged a couple but missed out on a hat-trick when he failed from the spot. Joey Greenwood hit the other two.

It was honours even in the other two games.Taylors were held to a 2-2 draw by Priory Unicorn. Ostrich continued to show good form by holding Vine to 1-1. .

The BASSA League has been drawn to play the winners of the match between Tameside and Rochdale in a GM Inter-League semi-final.
