North enjoy points spree at Park

NORTH opened the scoring with a try from Dave Garvey. It was set up by prop Dave McCarrick and converted by fly-half John Eady.

Not long after Sedgley came back with a try but they failed to level the scores. Dave Garvey put North further in the lead with his second try. But the conversion was missed.

North started to open up the gap when scrum-half Liam Brown, playing his first game of season, scored a well worked solo try.

The first try in the second half came from Chris Hyland and it was converted by Eady. Sedgley managed a brief spell of good rugby which gave them an extra seven points. But this only gave them a temporary respite and North continued to pile on the points.

Fullback Andy Donley scored a try which he converted. By this time North were running tries in for fun.

Chris Hyland scored his second which he converted easily from in front of the posts. Substitue George Millard and centre Dave Shiels added to the score in the last few minutes.

• NORTH travel to play Carnforth on Saturday. On 8 March they entertain Broughton, kick-off 2.30pm at Tudor Lodge

• THE Sale Sharks coaching night had to be cancelled due to a frozen training surface. A new date will be arranged shortly.
