Dale trio boost for Thornham

THORNHAM Cricket Club may have been boosted by the arrival of three players from Central Lancashire League club Rochdale.

The Guardian understands that batsmen Daz Cryer, Paul Butterworth and Steve Schofield have moved to Thornham, the club rocked by a mass exodus of players at the end of last season.

Schofield told the Observer: "There's been no fallout with Rochdale. It's just that I'm a family man now and cannot guarantee that I'll be able to play two matches every weekend.

"At Thornham I'll just be playing once a weekend and that suit me fine. But I do hope to return to Redbrook sometime in the future and finish my career with Rochdale.''
