Man legged up by star player Eadie

LEGS of Man's lead at the top of the BASSA League's Premier Division has been cut to two points.

They suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of rejuvinated Priory. Lance Eadie ran midfield, and gave his best performance for some time, and Simon Edel tucked away two of the goals as Legs crumbled to their second defeat of the season.

White Lion were 7-2 winners over Premier Autos, while New Broom returned to winning ways with a 12-0 demolition of Dover Castle. Kevin Beattie scored a magnificent double hat-trick for Broom whose other goals came from Joyce, Gilbert, and Talmage.

Ashley Brook moved to the top of Division One by beating third placed Taylors 5-2. At the other end of the table, Lamb Inn claimed their first win of the season. They beat Ostrich 3-1.

Nelson took a 3-0 half time lead over Vine, thanks to a hat-trick by Scott. Turner and Lomas added second half goals. Vine keeper Gibling had a superb game and could not be faulted for any of the goals.

Kersal Celtic raced into a three-goal lead with strikes from Dillon (2) and Warren. But Priory Unicorn pulled two back before Unsworth (2) and Green secured the points for Celtic.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Lowther Shield has paired two of the fancied teams. Legs of Man v Priory will be the top game. Nelson will entertain New Broom, and Priory Unicorn will play host to White Lion. Ashley Brook or Vine will go through to the semi-finals after Stowell Spire failed to show at the last league meeting.
