Boys slip out of County contest

FOOTBALL: MIDDLETON Boys under 11s slipped out of the County Cup, beaten 3-0 by Cadishead Sports.

It was one of Middleton's poorest displays of the season. Middleton had a chance, but a shot from Alex Walker was deflected onto the bar, and the rebound was scrambled away for a corner.

Cadishead took the lead on 20 minutes, and five minutes later they were awarded a penalty. But Callum Jackson saved the spot kick.

Two minutes later Cadishead were awarded another penalty, and this time Jackson was beaten, although he was close to making another save.

With five minutes left Middleton were awarded a penalty, but the kick from Anthony Hoolickin sailed high and wide.

Hoolickin had another chance from the spot, but the keeper made an excellent save.

Middleton were caught on the break in the last minute, and Cadishead scored a flattering third goal.
