FOOTBALL: Hopwood Ladies under-11s 1 Tameside B 1
HOPWOOD fought out an exciting 1-1 draw. They took the lead in the first half when an excellent low cross from Fiona Reddin was converted by Rachael Gyves. Play flowed from end to end, and Tameside equalised in the second half after an unfortunate defensive error by Hopwood.
- Hopwood under-10s 9 Stockport County 2: HOPWOOD'S free-scoring youngsters chalked up their fifth victory of the season with another impressive all-round display.
Player-of-the-week Sophie Tierney-Kenyon opened the scoring with a well-taken goal after only three minutes. Lizzy Hamer (four), Sarah Keown (two) and Jessica Bamber (two) also hit the target for high-flying Hopwood.
