Bang, Bang - the boys are back

MIDDLETON Boys under 14s started the season with a bang, against Ramsbottom, in the Bury and Radcliffe League on Sunday.

Boys knocked the ball around and created some good chances.

Just before half time last season's top scorer produced a thunderbolt shot from 30 yards to give Middleton the lead, and minutes later the striker produced an even better shot which found the roof of the net from 35 yards.

Boys stepped up a gear in the second half, and more goals followed from Andrew Walker, Joe Louthon, and Andrew O'Conner who made it 5-0 with a solo run and a cracking finish.

Michael Kennedy made it 6-0 and Ryan Lewis completed his hat-trick with a neat finish.

Kennedy then supplied an outstanding cross for Louthon to smash home with his head and make it 8-0.

A lack of concentration throughout the team allowed the Rams to score three times in the last 10 minutes.

Man of the match was captain David Talmage. Lee Walker and Barry Harrison also played well.
