BOWLS: CHRIS Seville, a finalist last year, partnered Lily Colley into this year's Blackley Ladies League pairs knockout.

They came up against the mother and daughter combination of Ann Kenyon and Michelle Kerr. It was a close final until Seville and Colley pulled away to lead 18-13. A fightback made it 17-19, but Seville and Colley then clinched victory.

Quarter-finals: Ann Nichol and Sharon Turner (Clough) 20, Irene Lynas and June O'Connor (Lewis) 21; Chris Seville and Lily Colley (Clough) 21, Alice Hollas and Irene Holt (Foxdenton) 17; Ann Kenyon and Michelle Kerr (Millbeck) 21, Agnes Gandy and Brenda Burgess (Clough/Alkrington) 15; Vic Cutler and Barbara Waring (Crumpsall Cons) 18, Vickey Harker and Ann Phillips (Bluebell) 21.

Semi-finals: Lynas and O'Connor 15, Seville and Colley 21; Kenyon and Kerr 21, Harker and Phillips 15.
