Girls' season ends in style

HOPWOOD Girls under 14s rounded off their season with a 6-1 win over Stockport County Girls.

Hopwood, the cup winners, needed a win to secure second place in the league. They started with only 10 players, due to other commitments, but took the lead when Leanne Durnford lobbed the keeper.

County were level within four minutes, but Sally McAndrew put Hopwood back in front, and from then on it was easy. Lisa Lewis opened her account and finished with three goals. Nat Crowshaw claimed the other goal.
