ANTHONY Horrox, aged 14, made it an early night at Preston Guild Hall on Monday.

The Middleton Select boxer stopped Anthony Doyle of Carlisle Villa in round two. Doyle was never allowed time to move, and he was repeatedly caught with clean shots.

Southpaw Horrox, a student at Middleton Technical School, took his openings. He had his opponent on the canvas inside a minute. Then he caught Doyle full on the nose with a stinging left. Horrox continued to find the target with one-twos.

The referee then stepped in to end the bout and save Doyle from further punishment.
