Winning return for Southern

LOCAL pride was at stake when two promising Middleton welterweights met in Blackpool, last week.
Former Bowery ABC fighter Curtis Southern, aged 18, now fighting out of Collyhurst ABC, was hoping to relaunch his career after two years out of the limelight, against Jamie Carr, from Middleton Select. Southern shook off his ring rust to record a commanding 19 points to six win.
With this win Southern took his record to a respectable seven wins from 13 contests.
