Latham is top man in easy darts win

AFTER a superb 6-4 home win over Orrell, Middleton's Super League darts team travelled to face Southport.

First on was big John Wellens who eased his way to a 3-0 win. Dario Padron found himself two down, but he dug deep to pull off a superb 3-2 win. He hit eight tons and a 180.

Kenny Kenyon started slowly, but he then polished off his opponent 3-1. Dave Orton won a tough contest 3-2, then Ray Service junior marked his comeback with a fine 3-1 win which made it 5-0 to Middleton at the break.

Southport gained some respect when Bob Brown was beaten 3-1, but Middleton were soon back on the winning track. Dave Cullen produced a fine 3-0 win, and Steve Shaw made it 7-1. He hit seven tons on the way to a 3-1 success.

Steve Service lost the first leg of his match, but he then cruised through the next three, scoring seven tons, for an average of 72. Last on was Darren Latham, and he won 3-0 to take the man of the match award. He averaged 77.74.
