Anglers all set for trophies

MIDDLETON Angling Society will hold its annual presentation night at the Radclyffe Arms, Grimshaw Lane, on 4 March.

There will be an admission charge of £2, which will cover the cost of a buffet. There will be a raffle, and extra prizes are needed.

The winner of this year's ladies' match is asked to contact Society secretary John Pole on 0161 653 0903 as soon as possible.

Fred Prudham took top spot in the Sunday Open on the Myrtle Road lodges. His catch included a pike of two pounds. The lodges are still heavily coloured, making it hard to catch.

It was just the opposite on the Rhodes lodges where the Wednesday Open produced good weights of carp, bream, and roach. The bonus money is still up for grabs on both venues.
