JAMIE Carr scored a convincing win when he boxed for Middleton Select against Adam Baldwin of Pisces ABC, Jersey.
Baldwin tried to dominate the first round, behind his jab, but Carr didn't allow him to get on top, and threw combinations to body and head to win the round.
Carr kept up the pressure in the second round, and continued to throw good shots. He caught Baldwin with a left hook to the jaw and floored him. Baldwin was up at eight.
In the third round Carr kept Baldwin on the back foot, and again caught him with some good shots, for another count of eight. Baldwin was allowed to carry on, and Carr seized his chance. Baldwin was caught again, and after another eight count he was sent back to his corner by the referee.
Middleton Select coaches Tony Pyne and Martin Lynch are pleased with the progress made by Carr, who will be entered in next month's Junior ABA Championships.
