Entries open for mixed pairs

ENTRIES are invited for a mixed pairs bowls knockout, sponsored by John Smith's Brewery, which will be played at The Birches, Whitworth Road, Rochdale.

Entry is limited to 32 pairs at £10 per pair. Qualifying dates are Sundays 19 and 26 May, practice 3 30pm, start 4pm. The final eight will play on Sunday 2 June.

This contest was previously known as the J C Curzon mixed pairs, and played at the Success to the Plough.

• ENTRIES are also invited for the RRG open which will be played at Allens Green, Radcliffe.

Entry is limited to 128, and the entry fee is £7. Total prize money is £1,200. Qualifying dates are 27 and 28 April, 4 and 5 May, start 1pm. The final 16 will play on Sunday 12 May, start 1pm.

• AKZO Nobel Bowling Club will hold a players' meeting on Monday 18 February at the New Inn, Dearnley.

The meeting starts at 7 30pm and new players are welcome.
