Coach's pride as team scoops medal

TALENTED gymnasts are jumping for joy after bagging a haul of medals.
A team of 25 lads from the Middleton Gymnastics Club, based in Bowness Road, notched up five gold medals, 11 silver, 11 bronze and two overall champions while competing against the best of the North West in the Greater Manchester floor and vault championships.
Coach Barry Humphreys paid tribute to the gymnasts and coaches involved.
He said: "The was the first time the vault contest had been held. Our boys were incredibly successful, and we had overall champions in Sam Ogden and Cameron Widall.
"I’m very proud of them and their coaches. Sometimes in training they can struggle a bit, but they were really on top form in this competition."
