New men for 13 CLL clubs

THIRTEEN of the 16 CLL clubs will start the season with different professionals to the ones they started with last season.

The three stayers are Karl Brown at Milnrow, Usman Tariq at Radcliffe, and Wayne Madsen at Unsworth.

The newcomers (although some are not new to the league) are:

ASHTON: Ian Daniel – a Sri Lankan who has been in the test squad. Right-hand bat and right-arm medium-pace bowler.

CLIFTON: Adil Nisar – left-hand batsman and right-arm leg-spinner who was professional with Bolton League club Tonge last season.

CROMPTON: Kaevin Stoute – right-hand batsman and medium-pace bowler from Barbados.

HEYWOOD: Ruvin Peiris – no stranger to the league as he was with Middleton before joining Lancashire League club Church.

LITTLEBOROUGH: Syed Abbas Ali – A left-handed batsman and right-hand off-break bowler who plays for Delhi Giants in the Twenty20 Indian league.

MIDDLETON: Werner Coetsee – right-hand batsman and off-breaks bowler from South Africa. He was with Northern League club Morecambe last season.

MONTON AND WEASTE: Brendan Nash – left-handed batsman and medium-pace bowler from Queensland who was professional for Werneth in 2000.

NORDEN: Jean Symes – South African left-hand batsman and left-arm slow bowler who plays for Gauteng.

OLDHAM: Chinthaka Jayasinghe – Sri Lankan who was with Clifton last season.

ROCHDALE: Alcindo Holder – Barbadian who was with the club two seasons ago.

ROYTON: Luke Procter – former amateur all-rounder with the club who took over as professional towards the end of last season.

WALSDEN: Janaka Gunaratne – Right-hand bat and right-arm off-breaks bowler who has played for Sri Lanka.

WERNETH: Upul Chandana – yet another Sri Lankan in the league this coming season.
