St Thomas More team wins title

THE 15th annual Rochdale and Oldham Primary Schools’ cross-country event, supported by Middleton Harriers, was held at Bowlee last weekend.

The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Peter Evans, together with the Mayoress - Mrs Helen Evans, presented awards to the first three in each of the six races.

Individual trophies were also awarded to the winning teams from Middleton, Oldham and Rochdale.

Official starter was Councillor Ted Flynn, while the race awards were sponsored by Link4Life, Rochdale Boroughwide Trust.

The team winners were:

Middleton - St Thomas More. Other teams represented Alkrington, Elmwood, St Michael’s and St Peter’s.

Rochdale - Norden. Other teams represented Castleton, Marland Hill, Meanwood, St Mary’s and Stansfield Hall.

Oldham - SS Aidans and Oswalds. Other teams represented Chadderton Hall, Diggle, Hulme Grammar, St Herbert’s, St Joseph’s, St Luke’s, Thornham St James, Watersheddings and St Mary’s.
