A 6-1 VICTORY for Friendship, over Hebers WMC, has given them the Middleton Ladies Darts League first division title.

The champions had taken a giant step the previous week when they beat Nook 7-0.

Millbeck, who were also in with a shout going into the penultimate game of the season, saw their hopes dashed when Oddfellows beat them 5-2.

The top score of the campaign - 171 - was struck by Woodside A’s Nicole Brown as her team beat Hebers 4-3.

The scrap for runners-up spot in division two became hotter when Assheton Arms beat second-placed Carters Arms 5-2.

This result allowed Brunswick, 4-3 winners over Kenyon, to go level with them on 85 points.

Woodside B, who had already taken the title, made it 14 wins in 15 outings when they beat Middleton Con Club 5-2.

Railway and Linnet won the Middleton Men’s League crib title on Monday with a 3-0 success against Woodman.

R and L also won 5-2 on the oche to ruin Woodman’s chances of taking the darts and crib aggregate title.

Gardeners (Sandy Lane) look most likely to take that crown after beating Gardeners (Grimshaw Lane) 5-2 on the dartboard. They lost 2-1 on the table.

The Sandy Lane team has a seven-point lead over Railway and Linnet going into the last round of matches.
