A Grey day for Celtic

20/ 3/2008

LANGLEY Celtic went out of the North West Champions of Champions knockout, beaten 1-0 by Hyde champions Grey Horse.

It might well have been a different story, as Celtic had good shouts for two penalties turned down, both for challenges on Tunji Moses.

Celtic boss Steve Horan said: "The game was played in a great spirit between teams who have a great deal of respect for each other.

"But we felt major decisions went against us.

"We knew we were at a massive disadvantage, as Grey Horse play on a synthetic pitch, and it is difficult for visiting teams to even push them close on that surface.

"We now have to get ourselves prepared for next Thursday’s Manchester County tie against Blackley Alliance. The lads are bitterly upset at having lost to Grey Horse, but they will come back stronger."
