Referee halts match after touchline row

MIDDLETON Lads’ match against Maccabi was abandoned when a row broke out between spectators on the touchline.

The referee had no choice but to call a halt with the score at 2-2.

Middleton had fought back from 2-0 down.

Dylan Andrew claimed their first goal and Paul Carey levelled after Middleton had missed from the spot.

Five minutes, or less, remained when the match ended.

MIDDLETON Juniors under 16s did play to a finish but lost to Rochdale St Clement’s in a Rochdale and Oldham Youth League match.
