Radclyffe aiming for a rise

FC RADCLYFFE stormed on towards promotion from the Middleton Sunday League’s first division last weekend when they beat St Clares 6-0.
They are five points clear of Woodman who were 4-2 home victors over Kestel.
Third placed Red Barn had little trouble in beating Old Cock 7-2, while a much closer contest saw Gardeners Arms edge Old Davids 2-0.
Division Three leaders Inter Alliance dished out a 7-2 beating to Middleton Colts to stay 10 points clear of Our Lady’s who were 4-2 away winners over Brunswick.
The other match in this division saw Charlestown beat Premier Autobodies 3-1.
Only one game was played in the Premier Division, and it involved the bottom two teams. The outcome was a 2-2 draw between VASA and Cardinal Villa.
Alliance overcame Blackley Alliance 6-3 in a cup clash, but Langley Rangers were held to a 2-2 draw by Radclyffe Arms.
