Campbell and Howe steal win

WITH yet another first team game postponed due to the weather, it was up to Abacus Media seconds to fly the club flag in the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
They entertained and beat Aldermere seconds 3-1.
Media came out of the traps flying, but Aldermere went close with their first effort when a move against the run of play saw them hit a post.
The first half was almost up when John Berry dinked a ball over the Aldermere defence for Ste Wroe to run onto and volley home.
The lead was shortlived in terms of minutes played, as Aldermere levelled early in the second half.
But Media played the better football and regained the lead. Martin Hoolickin hit the bar, and Ste Wroe was clattered as he moved in on the rebound. The spot-kick was converted by Simon Campbell.
Campbell had the ball in the net again, only to be ruled offside, but there was no respite for Aldermere when Phil Howe robbed a defender and ran on to score.
ALL games due to be played in the Middleton League last Sunday were postponed.
