Currie is star player as Colts complete winning double

MIDDLETON Colts under 16s completed a two-week double over Dukinfield Town when they won their league match 4-2.
Colts played some great football, with Tom Currie up front and midfielder Danny Burgoyne in fine form.
It was Burgoyne who set up the first goal. He played the ball through to Christian Fahy who saw his shot saved and knocked in on the rebound by leading scorer Richard Fitton.
Player of the match Currie then put Fahy through for him to slot in number two.
Fitton bagged the third following good work by Callum Duffin.
Colts seemed to switch off for the first 20 minutes of the second half, and two bad defensive mistakes put Dukinfield right back in the running.
But the local side settled again. Currie and Jones both went close before Andy Parfitt ran onto a ball from Walker to round off the scoring.
MIDDLETON Blue found themselves 4-0 down to Parkwyddn at half time. But they almost snatched a draw in a good second-half fightback which brought goals from Darren Vick, Kaden McCabe and Charlie Bewsey. Connor Byrne was player of the match.
