Turley is star of Dynamos’ five-goal show

ALKRINGTON Dynamos gave a great performance in beating Heaton Mersey 5-0.

Dynamos are flying in second place in Division Two of the Lancashire and Cheshire League, and they were keen to keep the pressure on the league leaders.

This they did in style as they took the game to Heaton Mersey who had little to offer in reply.

James Turley, on Dynamos’ right wing, was always a threat, and it was Turley who was instrumental in breaking the deadlock on the half hour.A well struck cross, hit hard and low, was deflected by a Heaton defender past a flat-footed keeper.

Only five more minutes had passed when Turley delivered another cross into the area, and this time a desperate diving header by a defender directed the ball into his own net.

Five minutes before half time Adam Smedley was unlucky to hit the bar, but Turley was on hand to fire the rebound home from close range.

The second half saw no respite for the Stockport side as Dynamos again took the game to them.

Gary Miller was a constant thorn in the side of the Heaton defence and it was he who made it 4-0 when a long speculative shot caught the keeper napping and looped over his head into the back of the net.

The final act came from Turley whose persistance in chasing the ball was rewarded when he completed the scoring.

DYNAMOS B team were 3-0 away winners over Mellor.

They are now the only 100 per cent team in the L and C League.

This game promised to be their biggest test to date, but they passed it with flying colours to make it a very impressive eight wins out of eight.

Dynamos were always in command and performed with confidence after taking a short while to settle into their game.

Luke Ramsey helped himself to two goals. Man of the match Sean Slater added the third.
