Radclyffe head for promotiion

FC RADCLYFFE are heading for promotion to the Premier Division of the Middleton Sunday League if they retain their early season form.

They have collected maximum points so far, and last weekend they beat Old Davids 7-1.

Munson led the way to goal with three. Perris and Vayro shared the other four.

Gardeners Arms were also winners, but their game against Old Cock was close and only settled by the odd goal in five.

Allott (2) and Jepson netted for Gardeners. Duggan and Jones replied.

Up in the top flight, leaders Blackley Alliance edged Langley Rangers 3-2. Carter, Bennett and Stokes claimed their goals. Ward claimed the two for Rangers.

Hall fired in a couple as Langley Celtic beat Cardinal Villa 6-0 away from home, and Cooke shot two for Radclyffe Arms who were 6-0 away winners over VASA.

Brunswick motored to a 9-0 home win over Premier Autobodies in Division Two.

Wilkinson top scored with four, and Hough hit three. Bergin and Brown made up the total.

While that match was full of goals, the clash between Inter Alliance and Our Lady’s produced only one. Booth settled the issue in favour of Our Lady’s.

New Moston Legion were odd goal in seven winners over Middleton Colts whose scorers were Morris, Smith and Lewis.

Donaghue (2), Nield, Malpass and Shepard scored the goals which gave Railway and Linnet a 5-4 home win over Middleton Boys.
