THIS week in the second part of our 'Bygone news stories' we take a stroll through Hopwood, the formation of the Cricket Club, an absent minded painter who placed his wooden ladder in a stream and two people who sustained injuries from animals. Around the time of the First World War there was once a rifle range at Middleton Junction. I have never seen any images of this range but several reports can be found within this newspaper.
