1. Christmas calling

LAST week we featured Kathleen Smith (maiden name) from Mosley. What was upsetting for her was the loss of the family snap shots. Looking at old photos brings back memories of days gone by. This week we have published a photo of the 'White Cottages' that was once at Rhodes. This will bring back childhood memories for Kathleen.

ALL too often these days folk complain that the town is 'not what it used to be'. For better or worse the town has changed. Ex-pats revisiting the town often find themselves getting lost, they remember the town 'as it was', in their minds are the scenes of yesteryear, similiar to the images that we enjoy publishing in Bygone days.

IT WAS when the Calico Printers Association's premises at Rhodes became available in 1972 that Barry Bernstein, owner of the Albany Mill, could see the potential of relocating his furniture manufacturing business, Homecharm, to Rhodes.
