All aboard the Fizbuz

GET your tickets ready! A new form of transport has made its way to Middleton bringing a taste of London life to the people of the town.

Friends, David Abbott and Andrew Broome, have bought their very own bright red, double decker London bus which has been seen winding its way through the streets over the past few days.

The £20,000 purchase will now be used for charity events, parties, corporate events, club promotions and even weddings by the duo who have recently set up their own company called FizBuz Promotions.

And to give the venture a jump start, comedians Johnny Vegas and local funnyman, Steve Coogan, hitched a ride in the back of the bus to the Frog and Bucket comedy club in Manchester.

David, who lives on Farmway in Alkrington, said: "I used to work for a door company in Manchester and during the night I would see various limousines, and even fire engines transporting people around. I thought it was a good idea and decided to come up with something a bit different to transport people around town."

So together with his sister's partner, Peter Broome, and after a lot of searching, he headed to London to buy the traditional red bus.

It arrived in Manchester a fortnight ago and already has helped to transport Santa to the Clever Cloggs Nursery with a sackful of presents.

Andrew, who lives in Chadderton added: "We already have some bookings for next year. We also have a number of old motorbikes and other vehicles which we are using for promotional events."
