A FIREFIGHTER douses a car blaze in Kingsbridge Road
One hour ... three cars torched

IRRESPONSIBLE firebugs kept important firefighting resources tied up when three cars were torched in less than an hour.
Blackley Fire Station first received a call to Moss House Crescent, off Slack Road, Blackley and found a Vauxhall cavalier alight.
As the crew returned to their Rochdale Road base they were diverted to Kingsbridge Road, Harpurhey and had to extinguish an Austin Metro.
Minutes later they were called over the radio to Crumpsall Park, on Westbury Road to tackle a blazing Vauxhall Calibra that had been left in the middle of the park.
The Fire Service's Incident Commander, Station Officer Rick Dennell said: "This was an extraordinary night and unfortunately all three cars were destroyed by fire before we arrived. It appears that the cars had been stolen and then deliberately set alight."
The police are investigating.
