Hairdresser returns to find salon wrecked

THE manager of a hairdressers has been left devastated after her salon was raided for the second time in three weeks.

Lisa Moran returned from holiday this week to find that her Totally U shop had been wrecked by callous thieves.

The crooks stole thousands of pounds worth of hairdressing equipment, handbags and computers from the Kirkway precinct store during a 45-minute raid.

Shocked Lisa said: "I’m totally disgusted with it all, I'm just gutted. The shop’s been completely violated. We've been able to carry on trading but it looks like we've been robbed. They've smashed cabinets, pulled down bits of the ceiling and kicked through doors.

"They’ve even stolen things like kids’ make-up kits. Things that will mean nothing to them but will really hurt my business."

Police believe that at least three offenders were involved in the break-in on Wednesday (27 August). The thieves kicked through the security shutters and front door at about 4am before disabling the alarm and stealing the items.

Lisa said she was disappointed that no neighbours had witnessed the incident.

She added: "I can’t believe that in a busy, built-up shopping and residential area like this that no one seems to have seen anything.

"And the police response time was ridiculous. My staff rang them at 8am after it happened and they didn’t turn up until 4pm because of a lack of man power. Then they didn't turn up until the next day to take finger prints."

It is the second time in three weeks that Totally U has been targeted. In the first raid, burglars kicked the front door in and set off the alarm. On that occasion, they fled with just a pay phone and a laptop computer.
