Daleks do have a charitable side

DALEKS invaded the town centre as part of a special Dr Who themed week.
The timelord’s arch-enemy was just one of many classic pieces on show at the Comple@te Internet Cafe as Dr Who fans from all over the area gathered.
Local enthusiast Ben Flay came up with the idea to help promote Rochdale and District MIND, which runs the cafe, and raise valuable funds.
And he managed to rope in his friend and fellow Dr Who fanatic, Chris Etherington, to ensure the event exterminated any competition.
Along with the timelord's tardis – built by Ben – and replica daleks there are a plethora of Dr Who collectables and memorabilia on display, including costumes, models and figures.
A full sound and light display was also organised to bring the exhibition to life.
Ben, who lives on Oldham Road, said: "It’s been very busy, we've had lots of people come from all over the borough.
"We’ve had brilliant feedback. Chris brought along his DJ equipment and put on a lights and sound show which has been very well received and I put on a video display."
The exhibition, which is free, runs until today (Thursday) but there is also a host of other Dr Who inspired activities throughout this week including raffles and a quiz.
The event is open to people of all ages. The cafe will also be open from 9.30am serving a host of Dr Who goodies throughout this week.
