Snow Patrol (MEN Arena)

24/11/2006

BIG anthems, big hearted sentiments, big sell-out Arenas - size seems to be the byword in the Snow Patrol camp these days.

But that hasn't always been the case. In fact, it was little more than three years ago that the Glaswegian balladeers were headlining tiny pub venues to a mere 100 people. But even then, they had big sentiments, all they needed was the big music to go with it.

Run in 2004 was the single that finally began to realise their vision, a big-hearted anthem which became a festival favourite. Having toured with U2 in America for nearly a year, Snow Patrol returned this year with an album, Eyes Open, which indulges their love of the big lighter-waving anthem even further.

The MEN Arena seems all the more fitting for their return.
