Soapbox: Platt family chaos as Martin goes

CORONATION STREET The Platts are in a mess. Martin tells David he's moving to Liverpool with Robyn. With the lad's mam looking set to get shacked up with Lurch I hope they're putting money away for his counselling. It's no surprise he gets drunk.

Then Gail and Sarah pick on Scooter for being lazy. The family should learn from him and sit still for a while, it'll keep them out of trouble! Sarah immediately tells Jason she's dumped Scooter, flirting outrageously at every opportunity. So, although Jason's back with the supposed love-of-his-life Violet, his thoughts are soon elsewhere.

Then, after Gail shares a night of passion with Lurch, the foot fetishist, she agonises over whether she should tell her family.

Kelly, meanwhile, says she gave Lloyd laxatives to stop him climbing into another woman's bed. Does she want him sitting on another woman's toilet? But soon he has to get a grip and race to save Steve and Ronnie from Jimmy's evil clutches.

EMMERDALE It's a soap wedding so there's the obligatory unwelcome guest. This time in the form of Sandy, Ashley's not-dead-after-all dad. Sandy tells Laurel a few home truths, revealing things about Ashley that shock. Is it that he sleeps with anything in the village that has a pulse?

Meanwhile, Sadie is trying to dig up dirt on Kelly. How difficult can that be?

She hires a private investigator just to prove Kelly didn't have a modelling contract and had posed topless.

EASTENDERS The Phil and Ian bickering continues as the latter shows pictures of Ben sent by Kathy, leaving me wondering if they literally dug out an old script to repeat the last time they did this.

And Chrissie is worried that Sharon may know more than she's letting on.

Oh, I doubt that Sharon pretends to be that stupid. She married Dennis.
