A bit about .... Mitch Benn

Metromagazine
28/10/2005

THE satirical songs of Mitch Benn - in Manchester for the comedy festival - are firm favourites on radio comedy shows. He was a regular on The Now Show, starred in Mitch Benn's Crimes Against Music and appeared on It's Been A Bad Week. He has a band, The Distractions, who recently released the single Everything Sounds Like Coldplay Now.

The first thing I do when I wake up is... Open my eyes and start breathing.
Ideally I would spend every day... but I can't afford it.
If money was no object I would... wonder where to keep it.
The greatest gift I have ever received was... free inside a box of Shreddies.
My one piece of advice would be ... come and see our show at the Comedy Festival.
My first job was... This one.
I'm scared of... Pain and suffering (mine).
I'm excited by... Pain and suffering (other people's).
If I could go back in time and do one thing again it would be... an extraordinary scientific breakthrough which would irreversibly alter our perceptions of the universe and our place within it.
I love... as much as possible.
I hate... as little as possible.
I want... is the name of a track on my 2004 album Too Late To Cancel.
You have to read... because otherwise you can't use maps or street signs and you'd get lost.
Everyone should listen to... Me.
You must watch... Doctor Who.
If I could be anyone else I would be... That's correct. How did you know?
My ultimate ambition would be... Unwise and impracticable.
My biggest inspiration has been... Money and deadlines.
The first time I fell in love... I was mistaken.
I think God is... Eric Clapton.
I think the death penalty is... Wrong in every conceivable circumstance.
My epitaph would be... Somebody else's problem.
Fur or faux? Neither.
Mayonnaise or salad cream? Both.
Eastenders or Coronation Street? Doctor Who.
Daily Mail or Guardian? Private Eye.
Harry or William? Who?
United or City? Liverpool.
Chav or scally? Hippy.
