Win Dave Spikey tickets

DOUBLE British Comedy Award winner and co-writer and star of Phoenix Nights Dave Spikey is back on the road, with a long awaited brand new live show - you can win tickets to see it here.

Previous tour shows; ‘Overnight Success’ (2003) and ‘Living The Dream’ (2005) were met with great critical acclaim earning him a ‘Performance of The Year’ Award (Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards), and a ‘Best Comedy Performance’ Award (Leicester Mercury Awards).

This full-scale nationwide tour sees the RTS winner and Bafta nominee making a welcome return to the live circuit, following a break to concentrate on his numerous television projects.

Since he last toured, the award-winning comedian has clocked up appearances on the legendary ‘Parkinson’ and performed alongside a star studded line-up before The Queen on the ‘Royal Variety Performance’.  He’s also appeared as team captain alongside Jimmy Carr and Sean Lock in four hit series of Ch4’s ‘8 out of 10 Cats’, and hosted 30 shows of classic game show ‘Bullseye’.

He won ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ and appeared as a celebrity judge on a series of BBC1’s Saturday night variety talent show ‘When Will I Be Famous?’ alongside Max Clifford and Graham Norton.  He also found the time to write and co-star with Johnny Vegas in ITV’s critically acclaimed sit-com ‘Dead Man Weds’, and write and co-star in BBC1’s comedy drama ‘Magnolia’.

In this new show, Dave tackles the old adage “Laughter is the Best Medicine”.  It was his dad’s favourite saying; which is why when Dave was six, he nearly died with diphtheria.

In later years, working in the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist, Dave discovered for himself that scientific evidence endorsed his dad’s wise words and it has been proven that when we laugh our bodies release a cocktail of chemicals and hormones which reduce stress and blood pressure, lift depression, boost the immune system and here’s the clincher.... burn calories!

So this new show is Dave’s small contribution to improving the health of the nation.  Come along and have a laugh at his tales of stunned guinea pigs, sexual awakenings, cannibals, penile implants, laxative chocolate, and the sun going around the moon.

Hopefully you’ll go away in much better health PLUS if you laugh for just one hour you’ll burn off 200 calories and that’s a pint of lager!  So for maximum benefit, Dave will be encouraging his audiences to laugh at absolutely everything and it’ll do everyone the world of good!
