It's quiz time

THIS week we have four great prizes up for grabs in our festive quiz.

Prizes are Two 1.3kg tins of Cadbury's Roses, a Christmas favourite, and two pairs of fascinating books. Treat yourself to a nostalgic tour of the 1950s with our book entitled, '1950s in Pictures.' Published by Parragon it covers a host of memorable events during the period of the Rock-n-Roll years. Sugar Ray Robinson's pink Cadillac, Gene Kelly, Marilyn Monroe. It was during the 50s that Elvis Presley was drafted into the US Army. There he spent more time with his guitar than his gun.

The year 1952 saw the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The book is packed with interesting facts. The accompanying book is published by Millers and is entitled, 'Cool Collectibles.' Written by Dan Synge it covers the most 'cool' collectables. Watches, bicycles, sport, magazines, pinball machines, board games and many more. One section deals with telephones, remember the introduction of the 'Trimphone' in the 1980s, this was one of those 'must have' items for some folk, now a sought after collectable.

To be in with a chance to win one of the prizes, click on ‘View Gallery’, answer the questions related to each picture, and send your answers along with your name address and daytime telephone number to: Bygone Quiz, Middleton Guardian, 24a Fountain Street, Middleton, M24 1AF. Entries must be in by 20 December. All winners will be notified by phone prior to Christmas.

Remember to state your choice of prize, Roses or a pair of books, and your contact telephone number.

Good luck.
